Mount an additional IP

Why an additional IP?

An additional IPv4 allows you to isolate services on separate addresses: hosting multiple sites with dedicated SSL certificates, separating a game server from an API, or respecting application constraints. At Anthony IT Solutions, IPs are publicly routed and protected by the Anti-DDoS network.

Order IP

Log in to client space.
Open the additional IP page.
Choose the number of addresses and duration of engagement (remises to 3, 6 and 12 months).
Validate the payment. The allocation is automatic from the global pool after confirmation.

The IP commands appear in My Services and the additional IP panel.

Connect IP to a VPS

Standalone IPs can be attached to a VPS, VDS or dedicated server (not gaming servers).

IP panel, open the panel of your IP command (/manager/panel/ip-address/) or the IP service details page.
Link, select the target VPS from the "Service" drop-down menu and save.
Note the network settings, gateway, mask and IP displayed in the panel (e.g. mask /32 or /24 depending on the datacenter).

Configuration on the VPS (Linux)

Debian and Ubuntu usually use systemd-networked or /etc/network/interfaces. Example with main interface eth0 and an additional IP 163.x.x.x :

Edit /etc/network/interfaces or a file in /etc/network/interfaces.d/ :

auto eth0:0
iface eth0:0 inet static
    address 163.x.x.x
    netmask 255.255.255.255

Apply:

ifup eth0:0

iproute2 method (temporary, test)

ip addr add 163.x.x.x/32 dev eth0

This command does not survive the reboot. Use a persistent config once the test has been validated.

Netplan (Recent Ubuntu)

Add address in /etc/netplan/50-cloud-init.yaml under the relevant interface:

Gateway and mask Take exactly the values shown in your IP panel. An incorrect mask prevents incoming traffic routing.

Use IP for a website

For a site to respond on the additional IP, configure Nginx (or Apache) with a block listen dedicated:

}

Or use the same IP with a server_name different if the DNS points to this address.

Untie or release IP

Detach from VPS, from the IP panel, choose "None" and save. Remove the OS-side network config.
Resilient IP service, IP details page, danger zone. Prorated amount (less 15% cancellation fee) credited in credits to your balance (non-cash).

Troubleshooting

IP not reachable, check the mask, the presence of the address (ip a) and UFW (ufw allow on the ports concerned).
Unable to attach, only VPS/VDS/dedicated are eligible; check that the target service is active.
Ping doesn't answer, ICMP can be filtered; test instead curl -I http://163.x.x.x or an open port.
