Install Docker

On Debian/Ubuntu, install Docker via the official repository:

Update: apt update && apt install -y ca-certificates curl
Install Docker: curl -fsSL https://get.docker.com | sh
Check: docker run hello-world

Docker Composer

The Composure plugin is included with recent versions: docker compose version. Describe your services in a file compose.yaml Then launch:

docker compose up -d to start in the background
docker compose logs -f to track logs
docker compose down to stop

Good practices

Show only the necessary ports and place a reverse proxy (Nginx/Traefik) ahead
Use volumes to persist data
Limit container resources if necessary
