The mods Arma 3 (units, vehicles, maps, frameworks life) come mostly from the Steam Workshop. This guide explains how to link a Workshop collection, synchronize the mod keys on the dedicated server side and ensure that your players connect without error "mod mismatch".
Principle Workshop
Each mod has an ID Workshop. The server downloads the listed mods; Steam clients must have the same mods (often via the same subscriber collection).
Prerequisite
- Active Arma 3 server, start
- Steam account with dedicated server access
- Collection Workshop prepared (CBA_A3 often required first)
Configure server modlist
- Create a Steam Workshop collection with all necessary mods
- In the panel or
server.cfg, fill in the mods IDs:- Parameter
-mod=or list in the game interface - Order: bookstores first (CBA, ACE), content then
- Parameter
- Restart, the server uploads via SteamCMD
- Check logs: each mod loaded without error
- Create an HTML or collection link for your players
Server-side mods only
Some server mods (Headless, admin tools) should not be imposed on clients. Separate -serverMod and -mod according to Bohemia documentation.
Size & performance
- 100+ mods increase start time and RAM
- Remove unused mods regularly
- Heavy custom cards: predict SSD NVMe (included on our offers)
Update mods
After updating Workshop, restart the server. Notify the community, Steam automatically updates clients, hence mismatch if the server is not up to date.
Troubleshooting
- Mod not found, incorrect ID or failed SteamCMD download
- Signature verification failed, corrupt mod, resubscribe Workshop
- Missing @cba, CBA required by most modern mods
