Paper vs Spigot: Which version to choose?

Objective

Choose the right server implementation (Paper, Spigot, Purpur...) according to your plugins and performance needs.

Spigot

Historical basis of Bukkit plugins. Good compatibility with old plugins. Correct performance for small servers.

Paper (recommended)

Spigot optimized fork: best TPS, vanilla bug fixes, extended API. Compatible with most Spigot/Paper plugins.

Change version in panel

1. Backup

   Create a world backup before changing (guide saves).

2. Version

   Panel → Versions tab → select Paper 1.21.x (or the desired version).

3. Restarting

   Start, check the logs for incompatible plugins.
