Secure a FiveM server: permissions, anti-beat and hardening

A FiveM server roleplay publicly exposed attracts cheaters, dumpers and trigger abuse. This guide covers hardening TXAdmin, ACE permissions, whitelist, event protection and good anti-cheat practices to protect your community and RP economy.

No protection is absolute. Combine technical hardening, active moderation and TXAdmin logs.

FiveM Attack Surface

  • Triggers client, Lua events unlockable without server verification
  • Injections menus, mod menus, silver/items spawn
  • Exploits ressources, leak scripts with backdoors
  • DDoS, network saturation (host side mitigation + proxy if applicable)

TXAdmin, admin permissions

  1. Access TXAdmin, configure TXAdmin
  2. Administrative accounts: one Cfx.re account per staff, no shared accounts
  3. Granular roles: moderator (kick/warn) vs admin (restart/resources) vs master
  4. Enable 2FA on Cfx.re account if available
  5. Journal actions : weekly magazine of the bans and give item

ACE permissions (server.cfg)

Example hardening native commands:

add_ace group.admin command allow
add_ace group.admin command.quit deny
add_principal identifier.fivem:ID group.admin
  • Don't grant command to confidence-building groups
  • Withdraw access resource restat to junior moderators
  • Use license/fivem/discord identifiers for principals

Whitelist & beta phase

  1. Before opening : whitelist Discord or TXAdmin
  2. sv_endpointprivacy and whitelist control according to whitelist resource
  3. Progressive opening : whitelist → tail → public
  4. Verif Discord role linked (community resource) to filter multi-accounts

Secure scripts (anti-trigger)

Gold rule: **any sensitive action on the server**.

  • Money, items, vehicles: server validation with source player id
  • Never trust amounts sent by the client
  • Rate limiting : cooldown purchases, bank withdrawals
  • Logs : webhook Discord on transactions > threshold
-- mauvais (client)
TriggerServerEvent('shop:buy', item, -1)

-- bon (serveur vérifie prix)
RegisterNetEvent('shop:buy', function(itemId)
  local src = source
  local price = Config.Items[itemId].price
  if Player(src).money >= price then ...
end)

Anti-cheat & entity lockdown

  • sv_entityLockdown strict, see OneSync Infinity
  • Community anti-heat resources (WaveShield, etc.), evaluate compatibility framework
  • Scan ressources leak : diff checksum, official Tebex sources
  • Disable ensure unused resources (attack area)

& server.cfg license key

  • Never share the Keymaster key publicly
  • Regenerate if leak, licence FiveM
  • sv_licenseKey only in server.cfg, not in public Git rest

Moderation & Evidence

  1. Save clips staff or screenshots for bans
  2. TXAdmin ban: identify license + discord if possible
  3. Communicate clear regulations (RDM, VDM, cheese = permanent ban)
  4. Review logs ox_inventory / qb-banking for anomalies

& DDoS Network

Hosting Anthony IT Solutions benefits from infrastructure datacenter protection. Server side:

  • Do not publicly publish admin TXAdmin IP
  • Proxy FiveM dedicated so large influence, proxy FiveM
  • Limit real slots to stable capacity (CPU saturation avoidance)

Checklist security before opening

  • TXAdmin individual admins + roles
  • Servicer.cfg without Leak Resources
  • Sensible events validated server
  • ÷ entityLockdown tested
  • Whitelist / active tail
  • Webhooks logs economy
  • 的 Automatic SQL backup TXAdmin
