Dedicated server vs session hosting

Prerequisite

• Active FS VPS, installation
• Valid FS 22 or FS 25 license linked to the server Steam account
• Backup of farm to load or new part

Configuration files

The server folder typically contains:

• dedicatedServer.xml, global settings (name, password, slots)
• savegame/, active multiplayer backup
• mods/, server mods synchronized with clients

Essential parameters dedicatedServer.xml

1. <name>, name displayed in the multiplayer browser
2. <maxNumPlayers>, slots according to your offer (often 6-16)
3. <password>, optional, private community
4. <savegame>, ID or save path to load
5. <allowCrossPlay>, PC only on traditional dedicated Windows server
