The envelope is the overall quota of your VPS Reseller offer. All your girls VM draw from this same pool of resources.
The four components
- vCPU, number of virtual cores distributed between your VM
- RAM, total memory available (GB)
- Stockage, accumulated NVMe disk space for all VMs
- IPv4, public addresses included according to offer (3-24)
Example: with 8 vCPU and 32GB RAM, you can create 2 VM of 4 vCPU / 16GB, or 4 VM of 2 vCPU / 8GB.
Consumption vs. available
The panel permanently displays:
- Utilized, sum of resources allocated to active VMs
- Available, margin to create or enlarge a VM
Good practices
- Keep a margin (~10-15%) to create an emergency VM or test
- Dimension the disc with buffer for logs and updates
- Book at least one IPv4 per VM displayed on the Internet
